Once again I’m sorry to jump in with facts but, as detailed in that study I posted, only about 1 in 5 supported armed resistance before Oct 7th.

I agree that they have a right to self defense and a state but, given the circumstances of their subjugation, they were a remarkably peaceful people.

Hamas do not represent the Palestinian people so no, they don’t “represent that flag”.

They were voted in in protest to a corrupt regime, were never popular and had about 20% support before Oct. 7th.

The fact that they were supported, enabled & funded by Israel up to October 7th is unfortunate.

I hate to be pedantic but the guardrails are the police, the FBI, the courts, international law and congress and they have all been dismantled. Public mobilisation is a desperately improvised, untested safety net.
