What an incredible thing to do: full-time wheelchair user Liam O'Keeffe, who suffered from a spinal cord injury during a rugby match 10 years ago, summited Kilimanjaro on Wednesday. You can donate to his fundraiser for the Injured Players Foundation here: givestar.io/gs/uhuru-sai...

London has fast become an OK cycling city for visitors but problems such as the one below are, sadly, still far too common. This is a route used by millions of cyclists every year. Imagine if a major road was just randomly blocked with nowhere indicated for vehicles to go.
London's cycleway #C6 #CS6 blocked on the City's Farringdon Street by Ludgate Circus thanks to #Cadent gas works, approved by #TfL.

NB: cyclists must merge with motor traffic and rejoin cycle track past the works;
SB: cyclists must cross the motorised traffic lanes, and somehow cross Ludgate Circus

It was interesting to see in Reykjavik celebrations of yesterday's 50-year anniversary of Iceland's women's strike. 50 years before that women were still hauling laundry from the site of these celebrations to hot springs 3km away.

I still get frustrated that, when the EU visa waiver payment comes into force, those aged 70+ - ie the group who most overwhelmingly voted for Brexit - won't have to pay.

Mountains aren't all about being active. Sometimes I really love just soaking in the view while soaking in a hot tub, and here, for @weather2travel.bsky.social, are some of my favourite mountainous places in Europe to do just that:
