When I was a child growing up in a conservative Appalachian home, I was told that what separated us from “the bad guys” was our ethics and morals. As I grew, I accepted we needed to be marked by our ethics and morals, but began to question if our nation was really living into it.

When I was a child growing up in a conservative Appalachian home, I was told that what separated us from “the bad guys” was our ethics and morals. As I grew, I accepted we needed to be marked by our ethics and morals, but began to question if our nation was really living into it.
