President Jeremy Tunraluk of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. has been placed on leave following an assault charge with a weapon or causing bodily harm.

Police have not released information regarding the incident.

The MMF have launched two lawsuits against the province Manitoba for their involvement in the Sixties Scoop.

One class action is for individual Red River Métis survivors and the other is against the province and Canada on behalf of the Métis as a whole.

A Court of King’s Bench justice ruled that a referendum by Alberta to separate from Canada is unconstitutional and violates treaty rights.

Several First Nations and First Nation groups are opposed to the idea of separation.

The Sipeknekatik First Nation in Nova Scotia has partnered with Bioburn Pros. Inc. to prep for next year’s fire season with technology aligned with Mi’kmaw values.

The technology will burn wood debris at such a high degree that it won’t produce smoke.

The 62 Indigenous artifacts that came over to Canada from the Vatican in repatriation efforts will be housed in Ottawa at the Canadian Museum of History.

The artifacts arrived in Montreal on Saturday and were transferred to Ottawa.
