🌳We need to plant more trees and woodland to tackle climate change and support habitat creation.

To do this, our tree production sector need the right support.

This is an interesting read, and piece of research… #satelliteDataUnencrypted
Information is always a desirable thing to have or obtain I think, but knowing it’s encrypted when being used would at least give some protection…

Fantastic dance performance from Kai & Nancy on #StrictlyComeDancing to the most beautiful piano and erhu (二胡) music from @langlangpiano.bsky.social and his fellow musician playing erhu. First saw LangLang at RAH at his debut London show, amazing pianist. This was so tender…

Enjoying reading comedian #ChrisMcCausland’s new autobiography, #KeepLaughing, an easy reading style, full of humour, rum tales from his youth, and some amazing events in his life. Reminders of things from my younger days too #CrowdsurfingChris

Almost halfway through comedian #ChrisMcCausland’s autobiography #KeepLaughing already - it’s full of humour, rum tales & astonishing moments so far; his style makes it v easy to read. Also bringing back 1980s & 1990s memories for me, like common cultural refs, music & the available alcohol choices!

This reminds to try making my payment again, last week there was some sort of issue, so I had stopped the process temporarily.

Wish I was (a) closer (to be able to go and see this show live) and (b) with free time to just let all the recent stresses go, but still dealing with that side as yet, so that won’t happen… Have you made any recording (audio or video, or a download at a push) for it, @mitchbenn.bsky.social ?

Massively missed posting for #DavidsMonthOfMusic last few days but emergency medical issues and running about looking after everything else was much more important to do first. So, I’d reached #Day26 before. Decided to thread the remaining day challenges from here.
Last 5 days of month (Day 26 to Day 30) of #DavidsMonthOfMusic challenge, showing 5 challenges to submit music song suggestions under a particular theme.

#RIP What a long life, and what fantastic body of work she has left behind!! #DamePatriciaRoutledge has died today. Was watching an old recording of her singing on stage in G & S “Pirates of Penzance” only yesterday, but everyone will remember #HyacinthBucket from TV’s “Keeping Up Appearances”.

#RIP #DrJaneGoodall An amazing lady, who truly cared about all of us, our planet and fellow creatures. What a life she led, what passion she held, what wisdom she had.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Jane Goodall.

She was a force for nature, tirelessly advocating for the protection and restoration of our natural world.

Her presence will be sorely missed." - Tanya Steele, CEO WWF UK.

My favourite Jane Goodall quotes....so many, so to the point, so wise. How different the world would be if enough people listened to her.
"People think hope is wishful thinking, and actually hope is about action." Quote from the Wiser Than Me podcast with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. "Only when our clever brain and our human heart work together in harmony can we achieve our true potential." Graphic by the Jane Goodall Institute of South Africa. "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." Graphic by Ariana Huffington on Instagram.

We had a wonderful evening at the Royal Albert Hall in the company of @ericidle.bsky.social . Wow, what a great night! Full of songs and stories, including some touching memories of his friendship with both George Harrison and Robin Williams. Prof Brian Cox came on during the encore. Loved it 😍.

Spent a lot of this weekend from Fri morning at an A & E dept of hospital about 20 miles away with family member, been traumatic even on the sidelines, but grateful still here. Emergency surgery done & deemed successful, recovery may be longer process though. #Thankful. And thank you #NHS staff!

Karen!! Amazing lady, cracking jive routine, she smashed it with Carlos… But I was very impressed by Lewis and George, and Alex and Jimmy, along with Amber (so little time to prep). La Voix, though, was fabulous!! #StrictlyComeDancing #SCD2025 Hope Vicky’s nerves settle more, she could do well too.

Ooooh, how brave Alex!! (I have never wanted to do such for my astigmatisms, for example, so you are braver than me…) Hope they settle wonderfully well and that you enjoy even more of your sporting things without limitation!!

Oooh, this looks fantastic… I both love movies and music, and I know @kermodemovie.bsky.social has expertise in both (plus he’s *plays* a double-bass too! All the best folks do!!) I can also think of a few folks I would give this to as a present.

“Witty and wise … an entertaining and assorted history of music and sound in cinema”. Four-star thumbs up from @empiremagazine.bsky.social for the new book by @nelsonjenny.bsky.social and me. Buy it HERE from Hive and support indie bookstores:

I’ve got a few but one of my faves is #TheSistersOfMercy and their album track “Doctor Jeep” from 1985, which seems a long while ago, but that’s how long I’ve loved them, and I saw them play live only at the end of May this year, and they were good….

Day 26 of #DavidsMonthOfMusic was more my thing, namely “a song with amazing bass/bass playing” - for some great bassists, I looked to Sting, Mark King (Level 42), & I knew lots of jazz bassists too. But amazing playing on a track has proved trickier to identify - should it be the star part or no?
Final 5 days of themes for #DavidsMonthOfMusic (day 26 to day 30) challenging folks to think of music tracks under each category

Finally, after various checks, I decided to go with the excellent #Eurythmics and “Here Comes The Rain” from 1983…. A band I was gutted to never get the chance to see live, I recall their announcements about the end at the time!!

Day 25 (y’day) of #DavidsMonthOfMusic has theme “a song featuring a string section”, so some of me thinks ballad, or drama at least!
Given this is also “featuring”, I have discounted whole string groups such as #UkeleleOrchestraOfGreatBritain, #2CELLOS & #HotClubOfCowtown. So what did I settle on?
aquabassgirl.bsky.social
#DavidsMonthOfMusic has reached #Day24 so this needs “a song with a genre of music in the title” - love many tracks with ‘Blues’ in, wondered what else. Found “All about Soul” by Billy Joel (1993), and Falco’s classic 1985 single “Rock Me Amadeus”.
