I mean on the surface you can see Starfleet as being conservative in a few ways. But thats part of the scrutiny and the purpose. Because thats where the modern lens comes in. The often attempt to be that way but once the flaws show. Then they are really progressive.

Also I just remembered. Absolute is the DC Ultimates equivalent right? It actually makes a lot of sense now because if they were attempting to be more edgy and modern. I can see her characterization being taken to the extreme and buy her being bigoted towards all metas. Much like Ultimate Steve was

Shes paranoid but I dont believe she is THAT fucking stupid. She would do anything to save mankind above all costs. This strikes me more as something Godfrey would concoct. Which is ironic given we know dude is obviously a meta to some capacity. New Gods seem to hide some superstrength

Im a bit bummed that Sean didnt mention the obvious comparison when it came to Filmations animation style. He-Man and She-Ra. Even if they were nearly a decade later. The choice is still very much the same. Like Scotty said in the short trek special. It was an artistic choice
