Well, it's official. After our paper last year (onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....), the Slender-billed Curlew is officially declared Extinct today.

Neil Duncan-Jordan, MP for Poole, has warned that loopholes in current laws are allowing fox hunting to continue under different names despite the 2005 ban.

He has written to Angela Eagle, the new minister for rural affairs, urging her to act “before another season of suffering.”
