Highly recommend this wine! It’s hard to get but if you can find it go for it. Fruity and bubbly, it’s awesome

Hungary banned anything that “promotes homosexuality,” which means Pride.

However, today over 500,000 people in Budapest told the government to fuck off. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Netanyahu’s illegal unilateral attack on Iran risks a full-blown war.

These strikes directly undermine the U.S. diplomatic efforts to address Iran’s nuclear program. Talks were planned for Sunday, but Netanyahu chose to attack.

We must not be dragged into another Netanyahu war.

with everything going on in the news lately, i think it’s about time to bring this photo back as a reminder
The famous pale blue dot image taken by Voyager 1. Against the darkness and emptiness of space, there is a very small dot, which is Earth, suspended in a beam of sunlight.

Today is the anniversary of Alan Turing’s suicide, in 1954.
Turing was the father of modern computing. His codebreaking helped the Allies to win WWII.
Arrested for being gay, he chose chemical castration over a prison sentence. He lost his security clearance, as all homosexuals were deemed a risk.
Alan Turing’s blue plaque in St Leonards reads:
Alan Turing
1912 - 1954
Founder of computer science and cryptographer, whose work was key to breaking the wartime Enigma code, spent his childhood here. Portrait of Turing smiling rather frutily.

If you need a breather from all this bullshit, here's a photo of Earth.

From Saturn.

We're that slightly brighter star at centre right.

Gonna say something obvious to most: real masculinity defends the defenseless, punches up not down, has compassion, and fights only on behalf of others to battle injustice or evil.

It doesn’t just lift weights and tweet in all caps and listen to Rogan and grow a beard to feel accepted by other men

Oh my god the bear is espresso ice so the coffee gets stronger as he melts
An iced coffee with a brown ice bear floating in it. A small Italian biscuit rests on the spoon.

Very dark gray material shaped like a triangle or shark fin extends from just below top left all the way down to the lower right corner and back up toward the top right. It looks like thick smoke that has billowed out irregularly, thicker along the line from top left to bottom right, and looser on the piece that goes toward the top right. Behind the dark gray on the left side, from the bottom left to top center, there is dust that looks like arced claw marks that appears in light orange and yellow. The background at top left is hazier and some blues are covered in semi-transparent orange wisps, which makes sections take on green hues. In the bottom right, the background is bluer. There are a few bright red and purple stars scattered along the right half, most toward the bottom. The largest star is at right-center, just at the edge. It is red and has four diffraction spikes. A tall, thin structure of dark gas clouds. This pillar is darker and broader at its base, thins toward the middle, and broadens out again at the top, with spikes, fingers, and wisps of gas protruding in all directions from its head. Some parts of the pillar are illuminated, but most are dark and silhouetted at the edges and lit from behind. A wall of colorful gas lies behind the pillar, bluish at the top and redder toward the bottom, with several blue and gold stars scattered across it. A massive spiral galaxy fills the image, with its bright yellow core seen near the upper left. Spiral arms whirl outward, laced through with dark brown dust and bright blue patches of star formation. A densely packed cluster of yellow stars shines at the center of the image, with more stars scattered throughout. Clouds of glowing indigo gas and dust dominate the lower half of the view, and a red star with diffraction spikes shines at upper right.

new hubble image of a beautiful spiral galaxy (ngc 3596) that lies 90 MILLION light-years away!!! 🌌
A spiral galaxy viewed face-on, with a slightly oval-shaped disk. The galaxy’s center appears as a bright white spot surrounded by a golden glow. Two spiral arms extend out from the center, wrapping around the galaxy and broadening out to form the thick outer edge of the disk. Thin reddish strands of dust and bright pink spots follow the arms through the disk. Faint strands of stars extend from the tips of the spiral arms and out beyond the disk.
