Judge: "(T)his inquiry is not some academic exercise. Approximately 137 men were spirited out of this country without a hearing and placed in a high-security prison in El Salvador, where many suffered abuse and possible torture, despite this Court’s order that they should not be disembarked."

BREAKING UPDATE: As I was typing re: the Bondi-led effort to stop testimony at next week's contempt hearings, Judge Boasberg DENIED the (1) Motion for Reconsideration and (2) Motion for Stay.

BREAKING: Arizona's Congressional delegation split 4-5 against the National Defense Authorization Act. It passed, 312-112.

Nationally, GOPers overwhelmingly favored. But Biggs/Crane/Gosar were 3 of the 18 nay votes.

Overall, Dems voted for it. However, Ansari/Grijalva voted nay.

There should now be NO objections by the Administration to unsealing the seizure warrant.

So many other questions/issues raised in the NY Times article that need answers. The warrant is the 1st and key step.
Breaking news: U.S. forces seized an oil tanker near the Venezuelan coastline, President Trump said, a significant escalation against President Nicolás Maduro and his country’s oil-dependent economy.

UPDATE: Arizona's Drew Ensign was just a messenger.

Bondi's DOJ asks Judge Boasberg to RECONSIDER forcing (Arizona's) Drew Ensign to testify next week in contempt inquiry.

Ensign files Declaration: "I did not provide any legal advice...." Says he "summarized" Judge's statements

For anyone else interested in WHY the @Politico reporters (and/or headline writers) made it sound like a done deal, here is a great explainer from Arizona's own Chuck Blanchard: notesfortheperplexed.substack.com/p/explaining...

Correction: the judge has set the hearing (for Ensign and Reuveni to testify) for DEC. 16 - not tomorrow.
Judge Boasberg is looking into contempt vs Ensign, Secy Noem, others for disobeying his orders to not let the planes take off over the weekend.

Noem, now-Judge Emil Bove, others filed Declarations on Fri/today. DOJ attys claimed privilege, but judge wants Ensign in person.

Good reporting, but headline makes it sound like a done deal. The article notes that the House & Senate are expected to pass it this week *without changes*.

HOWEVER, if we have learned anything from this Congress, never assume "without changes" when Trump may fight this...hard!

Judge Boasberg REJECTS the goat's request to end the contempt inquiry into Sec Noem and others who seemed to disobey his Order to not let planes go to El Salvador's CECOT internment camp.

Doesn't accept minority judge's opinion that Noem& Co were not "contumacious" (willfully disobeying).

BTW, the AG's Office declined the opportunity to answer our questions about the decision-making process, and whether reaction to Mayes's November 7 interview with @brahmresnik played any role. (Her non-committal answers led most to assume she would not appeal.)

The crux of the AG's argument:
"The trial court erred in two respects. First, it imposed a novel duty on prosecutors to instruct the grand jury on a non-criminal federal statute that provided no defense to the charges and was otherwise irrelevant..."
