Just realized half of the playoff teams are from Great Lakes states. Best region in the country in so many ways

Oh clearly Fickell, right?! Franklin has had success.

The reds were in the playoffs this year.

Someone with a reds hat at the brewers-cubs game 🤔

Honestly it seems to me that more than anyone they are the one team no one wants to play. Incredible.

Stay tuned for the follow-up, “what if Mr. Rogers was nice?”

No, just started looking pretty recently. Good idea though.

New from 404 Media: an internal Meta message we obtained tells employees on its metaverse team that they should be using AI to “go 5x faster”. That's 5 times faster, not 5 percent more.

Hatred may be too strong a word, because what you’re describing sounds like acedia.
arkmashton.bsky.social
Maybe? Acadia is notoriously tricky to define. It’s a sort of spiritual apathy, so it could certainly manifest in the way you describe. It commonly appears as a sort of hatred of things present, and could result in a temptation to easy pastimes.

Some thinkers have identified narcissism as the modern condition, and I think there's some truth to that. I also see a lot of grandiosity. Both of these I think contribute to acedia, which I think is the most modern spiritual illness.

I love how that Newman meditation affirms that we're all unique and unrepeatable without succumbing to grandiosity. Most of us will only impact the world in ordinary, everyday ways. That's beautiful. A whole world of Great People would be horrible.

This prompted me to do a little research. There's an Irish DJ who narrated the European version of Mythbusters who goes by Robin Banks (sadly it's an alias)
