....of ease of manufacture (and therefore cost).
With a firm design in place I've been able to work on the customisation options. At the current time the front & inside lining panels have 5 different mix/match options available. Full details on the website: www.arrayairsoft.net/customisatio...

....and cost to the customer. As a result the zip section and inside corners were redesigned. Since then I've produced 8 new pouches which, I'm happy to say, are both easier and quicker to produce than before. While the new version looks very similar its a huge step forward in terms..... 2/3

A busy couple of months! - An initial batch of 8 pouches created in what, I hoped, would be their final version led to a bit of a realisation. The complexity of some areas of the build process (which took longer and increased the labour % of the final price) wasn't worth it, both in time..... 1/2

Another GEN2 pouch taking shape, this time the 3x3 version in MTP. Still working on refining the linings but overall happy with progress.

A couple of 'design' days here while awaiting supplies. Now I'm happy with creating the pouch linings I have an IFAK / clamshell pouch design starting to take shape.

From raw materials to finished product. The 2nd Generation utility pouches are taking shape with an improved design and inside lining fabric. Just awaiting some supplies to finish the insides before the design is finalised.

Working hard on 2nd Generation utility pouches. These now feature an internal lining (15 different colours available!) and an overall improved design.

Plate Carrier parts list updated. Base configuration (e.g. no extra pouches) is looking to be around £130, roughly 60/40 split between labour and materials cost.
Should have these up on the website today.

Available in a wide range of colours, see the website for more info.

More pouches added to the plate carrier. x2 '3x3' and x1 '4x2' on the back and a pair of '4x2 compact' pouches on the sides.

Additional magazine pouches of the 'B' and 'C' types left to add.

All items handmade by myself and available in a wide range of colours.

Work continues on fully outfitting the plate carrier, starting with the type 'A' magazine pouches. This version is open topped, secured with 3mm elasticated cord and top retention loop. 'B' type pouches will be covered with a velcro flap and 'C' with a 25mm buckle. Both coming soon.

Latest revision of the Plate Carrier design completed. A Height increase of 20mm (to better fit an L size SAPI) has also let me add a rear grab handle and front zipped pocket. Padding design on shoulder straps and cummerbund also improved.

Initial design of the Plate Carrier is complete. Minor changes to the strap/cummerbund padding and a re-worked 'top' section at the front of the main panel will be on the next revision.

Redesign of the drop pouch front panel, removing complexity and awkwardness from the build.

An open zip and how the ends are managed makes it vastly quicker and easier to construct. This new design will serve as the template for all side zip construction on future builds.

The new 3x3 pouch marks the completion of the (current!) range of Utility Pouches in MTP. Other colours are available already but wont be live on the site until I have completed a final version of each style/colour combination.

Utility pouch design has really come together, I've combined several ideas into one cohesive 'family' with larger and compact version of both the 4x2 (landscape) and 3x3 (portrait) in the works. 4x2 MTP and Black are complete with Olive and Cerise in the works.

Working on the Cummerbund design today. Prototyping a more straightforward rear attachment method with Velcro, woven elastic and webbing. Easier and quicker to build than the v1 design.

Review & possible build of Cummerbund design today.

As part of the wider Plate Carrier project I've developed a straightforward, lightweight set of dummy ballistic plates. These are sized to emulate an average 10"x12" (254x305mm) real steel plate so should fit in a majority of 3rd party airsoft plate carriers.

Back to the Plate Carrier today with assembly almost complete on the front panel section. Almost ready for final assembly. Very please with the ease of manufacture and aesthetic, especially in the MTP fabric/webbing.

v2 Utility Pouch completed, a few changes 'behind the scenes' to aid assembly but overall very happy.

Utility Pouch zip finished and attached to the side/bottom to complete that section, extremely happy with this new design. Working on the back MOLLE panel and then ready for final assembly.
