BREAKING: Platform Ventures, the development company that owns a south Kansas City warehouse that federal agents toured last month to consider for an immigrant detention center, announced today that it is not moving forward with the sale.
Kansas City developers halt sale of warehouse for ICE detention center as public pressure mounts
Federal officials first toured the building in January, sparking speculation over whether the owners had sold the building to the U.S. government. Media reports suggested the sale was part of a push to use warehouses across the country as immigration detention centers.

The Trump administration has announced it is targeting major LGBTQ+ healthcare centers, threatening to shut them down unless they stop providing trans youth care.

It appears to violate, at least in spirit, a court order in Oregon stopping them from doing this.

Ali slept overnight on his friend’s grave after a funeral marked by singing and dancing, gestures so dangerous in Iran they can lead to arrest.

As graves fill with victims of the IRGC crackdown, funerals are shedding quiet submission and erupting into song, movement, and noise.
So many Iranians killed, funeral traditions are changing
As the Iranian regime’s violence disrupts burial traditions, some Iranians are reinventing how they mourn by publicly singing and dancing.

“Don’t you ever accuse me of a crime,” Bondi fired back.

Let's take what she said out of the context of the article for a moment. For sure, read the article, and the transcript (I'm on the hunt), but think about what she saying here. 🧵

There is a theme. Not just from Bondi or Bovino, either. Trump's associates often have assumed they would be lauded as heroes for their actions.

Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record.

And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once.

Yep. Treating AI like it has the capacity for this facet of human identity is definitely misleading, and designed to mislead people.
Anthropomorphizing the user interface of a sociotechnical apparatus?
Sounds like a marketing project.

Temporary arrangement until things stabilize.

Anyone know when that'll be? 😐

Ten minutes later I'm asking myself if David Copperfield is in the Epstein Files.

Welp, so much for this analogy. Both examples presented might be gross. 😕
What I want from AI is akin to David Copperfield making the Statue of Liberty disappear as a paying and delighted audience member.

What AI does now is a trick on par with your uncle (that never washes his hands) pulling a coin out of your ear (that he keeps) and you're his captive audience.

I would try to be sad about this if I wasn't too busy playing indie games and small studio releases that don't require NVIDIA's bloated hardware. I love AI conceptually, but the current model and options leave a lot to be desired.
