I highly doubt he's not informed about the situation in the US. I also understand that he's mostly based in Europe and probably doesn't care at all about the US, but the fact is, he should stand up for free speech EVERYWHERE!

Is he intentionally avoiding mentioning specific countries that have been doing these same things for years? Is he avoiding mentioning the US for any specific reason?
I'm wondering why he chooses those specific countries, but says nothing about what's currently happening in the US

I also find it a bit odd that he's not complaining in this about Russia. He's been vocal against Russia in the past.
He's also not mentioning the censorship of multiple countries throughout Asia, including the middle East.

Durov and Telegram are based in the UAE, and currently the US has multiple dealings with Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

Don't bother. This person seems to be the type that wants to argue, even if it's with allies. They want to talk over other people's points for no reason except to feel important.
