I loved the tunes when I was younger, but was always a little confused with their pretty boy looks whilst singing about hell raising and block busting 😂 so out of step with the accepted stereotypes of the day.

It’s like I knew her album at the time somehow, not sure how, (I was v young… so I had no idea how many covers were on it) this was just all Miss Jones to me… then as I got older slowly realising there was Petty, Smokey R, Chrissy H, Roxy M .. all great awakenings

Straight in with Refugee, what a strong, strong opener 🎸for any album 🙌 I think it was shortly after this this came out I discovered Tommy Vance’s Friday night rock show on Radio 1 (I wasn’t buying a lot of records, and this was like a huge gateway to non chart stuff)

He fell into my lap when the boy was younger, got lots of car airplay, then he pops up on Jools playing guitar with a full band ( not just a rapper as I had previously pegged him) and I became a proper fan 🫡

Absolutely love this, as I always do when I stumble upon his stuff, (I never bought any at the time 😔) this has a great groove… there’s a little bit of the Colourfield in the arrangement… which only makes it better 😁👍
