it reads: Piltie’s Dog fights tonight. The crowd erupts and Cait’s eyes go searching, at first looking past the blackened figure standing in the center of the ring. The Commander is looking for a cheerful burst of bright pink hair and she only sees the angry, oily mop, hanging long and tangled down the chiseled back. The shoulders — smeared with grease — are broad and that’s familiar. Cait squints, looking closer. From under the grime, the axles reach and steam curls into the sweat-stained wraps around the forearms and hands of Violet.
