Tesla drivers are genuinely stupid on another level. Dudes brag about the instant electric torque and fast 0-100, and they launch the car on every light if they see anything vaguely sporty, then go 40 under because the road is slightly twisty, and end up getting overtaken by base 5MT euro-hatches.

Speed enforcement outside of areas where pedestrians are around is not really needed

Worst case scenario everyone involved has 1.1 tons of metal around them, which pedestrians famously do not possess

Then the police resources can be allocated to more pressing things like corruption busting

The root cause of so many problems is that first in the 90s they just did not give a fuck - but some improvements like 160km/h line speed were done - and the rolling stock companies got tunneled out

And in the post recession era they put a lot of the big projects on hold because austerity

From experience it’s more of a gamble

Either everything goes perfectly and you have a great time, or everything goes wrong and the train is an hour (or more) delayed, and when you get on the train the air conditioning, restrooms, sockets and the wifi are all broken - regardless of company

I mean the 1st corridor is getting quite crowded nowadays because they didn’t add a quad track to the line between Prague and Kolín (only triple track to český brod)

HSR really can’t come soon enough

Czechoslovakia decriminalized homosexuality in the early 60s after they realized it’s not a medical condition. (They also ran a global LSD trafficking operation)

Secret police still used it as blackmail though, but you couldn’t get into prison for being gay.

Maybe the government here is just more effective in enforcing public contracts for rail services? ČD once used pilsen region regiopanters in other regions and it was a pretty big fine afterwards

Resulted in south Moravia directly buying their own trains with AC only to prevent use in other regions

idk what is it with western countries fucking up everything recently, because stuff like open rail access works fine here and resulted in increased rail use (back when discount tickets (for students and seniors) were 75% off you could go places for as low as 100czk on lowcost regiojet trains)

speed doesn’t kill at all, and never has killed anyone - it’s suddenly becoming stationary that gets you dead. Being a shit driver causes getting suddenly stationary.

I hope they end up increasing all motorways in CZ to 150+ soon.

This sort of policy resulted in people running on “making green blood flow” get into pairlament.

Westerners are extremely out of touch, and this just ends up reaffirming that with general public, breaking trust in the EU project even more considering that it’s an extremely unpopular policy.
