Hell yea, brother! 🤘
I (tentatively) am

oh hey congrats!
Rolling in my sleeping bag to the kitchen where people without substance use disorder are awake very early and making breakfast: “this will change everything for you, let me explain the Maillard reaction!”
What if I told you I have a car that’s worth $200?

Remember when the UN said they could seriously cut into world hunger for $6 billion and Elon said he’d donate it if they could provide a detailed plan… they did and then he bought twitter for $44 billion instead
You haven’t seen my toothbrush.
Most hopeful thing I’ve seen all week! Someday, maybe I’ll have a garden too.
oh my god, ohhh yess I had a jar of olives in the pantry! Garlic and jalapeño stuffed. Thank you so much for reminding me, they’re ever so delicious.

"I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops."
all those ballots being “shipped” to those all pesky “registered voters” through the commie “USPS”
“I wasn’t trying to favor myself.” So then what WERE you donating for? Clearly it has no relation to the actual entities you’re donating money to. Imagine causally “donating” more money than the combined net worth of everyone I know just to get a phone call from donald fucking trump’s cabinet…
or rather, “this new pope is so woke, is he even Catholic?”
“The new pope is too woke for me to get behind” energy
China and the US and every other developed country have a moral obligation to assist the global south in skipping as much of that dirty capitalistic industrialization as possible. But none of them will, because we’re competing instead.
The irony of Lizzie Magie getting screwed out of her patent and the game turned by Parker Bros/Hasbro into its modern form without the extra “anti-monopoly” ruleset designed to demonstrate the merits of everyone benefitting from wealth creation, is quite painful but neatly captures the zeitgeist.
Don’t get me wrong, we absolutely need to follow in China’s footsteps in so many ways. But nationalistic division is what’s used to justify quick and dirty industrialization in the first place (scale up as quickly and cheaply as possible by burning coal etc, because we have to compete)
What I’m arguing is that we’re all still playing the game, and until that changes globally we’re still on the fast track to environmental doom. China being way better per capita now at emissions doesn’t excuse them, it’s not a zero-sum game. We need a holistic approach.
progression just like Europe and the US and China. China is a major practitioner of debt-trap diplomacy, many of the poorest countries have received investment loans (great!) from China, but now pay debilitating portions of their GDP towards interest (sure sounds like a capitalistic entity to me!!)
I agree that we need more socialism in our diet. But you seem the be completely overlooking the decades of burning coal to enable industrialization that led China to where it is now. Socialist or not, the global south is industrializing rapidly to meet population growth. They’ll continue on this…
I would argue actually that China is a MASSIVE capitalistic entity, regardless of internal structure. The 2nd largest economy by GDP. Much of their pollution is generated in order to participate in global capitalism.
Point being that the issue of overpopulation is inextricably tied to the gross wealth disparity wrought by capitalism. I don’t expect to convince the oligarchs of anything, but “eating the rich” is a much more plausible solution than convincing poor people in the slums to stop having sex.
