gabriele.seesI spent last weekend at the first-ever Group Relations Conference in Singapore, and the timing couldn’t have been more astrologically poetic.The conference opened on the New Moon in Scorpio with Mercury Retrograde Cazimi, all forming a grand trine with Saturn–Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer, opposing Uranus in Taurus.Themes of renewal, disruption, and clarity was to be expected and I stepped into the conference realising that it was literally titled “(Re)Discovering Our Roles: Rituals and Renewals.”- with a cover of water and ripples. The astrologer in me was just brimming with delight at this synchronicity! 🦂🌊✨This GRC dropped me into a temporary organisation studying unconscious group dynamics- something that mirrors so much of astrology: valence, projection, role-taking, and the patterns we replay in relationships and group life.As someone who works alone, I rarely get to be in system while also intervening in one, so this space like this for learning was incredibly valuable.What surprised me was how much I’ve grown since my first GRC back in 2023. Back then I was a such a headless chicken. 🐥 This time I felt grounded and aware of the roles the group might cast me into (unconsciously) with the clarity to choose my response (very Mercury Cazimi energy).My recent Gestalt OD training definitely supported that ease.Being surrounded by so many experienced OD practitioners felt like “playing football with the big boys.” Watching their presence and their Use of Self was such a lovely way to learn.And I’m leaving with a question: How can astrology and Group Relations work speak to each other- especially around projection, valence, and relational patterns?#grouprelationsconference #hereandnow #OrganisationalDevelopment #newmooninscorpio #mercurycazimi
