I thought I had my top games of the year locked in, and then Skate Story appeared out of nowhere like a bat out of Hell. This is, like, a game that wad made specifically for me; rad music, super fast speeding, anti-authority messaging, surrealism, ambiguous philosophy. I love this game.

Nintendo seems to have dominated the second half of the year with their releases, the latest being Metroid Prime 4. Will the open world and annoying AI helper be a deterrent? We'll see!

My month long journey with The Talisman, the first book in Stephen King & Peter Straub's trilogy, has come to an end. It was challenging to get through, at times, and I felt like quitting more than once; boy am I glad I didn't. They nailed the ending, which made me openly weep in my living room.

I just finished reading Pet Sematary and, my god, what a book. The sheer terror I felt while reading it is, thus far, unmatched with anything else I've come across. It doesn't top The Stand, but it's a darn close second.
