October is Manufacturing Month! Auburn is home to 40 transportation/warehousing businesses, 49 manufacturers, and 3,000+ manufacturing jobs!

At Monday's council meeting, Mayor Harmon presented a Manufacturing Month Proclamation to John Eberly, operations manager at Panolam Surface Systems.
The City of Auburn warmly congratulates Rita Beaudry, recipient of the 2025 John Jenkins Hearts & Hands Leadership & Service Award.
Beaudry, who serves as the city’s Grant Manager, is a lifelong member of the community and, like John Jenkins, her love for Auburn is deep and true. At the meeting, she was warmly celebrated by the mayor and city council, city staff, family members, friends and community members.
This distinguished community service award is named in honor of Auburn Mayor John Jenkins, who passed away in 2020. Each year, the award recognizes an Auburn resident, group, or organization for their significant impact on the quality of life in our great city.

Absentee voting for the 11/4/25 election will be available starting Monday, October 6 in the City Clerk’s office at Auburn Hall during normal business hours. If you have already requested an absentee ballot to be mailed to you for this election, you can expect to receive your ballot by next week.

Over the next couple of weeks, Auburn Public Works will be removing some of the old park benches along the Riverwalk. We’re replacing them with new benches as part of ongoing beautification efforts along the Riverwalk. This work should be completed by the end of next week.

LAKE GROVE PARK CLOSED 9/23: Please note that the team from Auburn Public Works will be CLOSING Lake Grove Park and Fair Street tomorrow (9/23) to excavate for a parking lot. The park will reopen Wednesday. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we make this improvement to our wonderful park!
Please note that the Tax & Clerk’s Offices here at Auburn City Hall will be closed this Thursday, September 25th, until 1:00PM for staff training. We will open to the public at 1:00PM. Online services will remain available for your convenience.

Happy Labor Day from the City of Auburn! Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers in Auburn and across our great nation. We are especially grateful for our incredible city staff, whose commitment keeps our community strong, beautiful and safe every day.
There will be brief road closures as the parade takes place. We urge motorists who are not planning to attend the parade or blues festival to avoid the area if possible.
Additionally, the Lewiston-Auburn Balloon Festival PARADE will take place on Saturday morning starting at 10:00AM. It will step off from the corner of Elm & Main Streets and continue down Main, through New Auburn, and over the Lown Bridge to Lewiston. Learn more: www.laballoonfest.org
