you are right, the UV gradient that governs how much a sprite can bend was a bit too lose

i hear you! but you know what they say about rules, right? i find it fascinating to mix the old and the new to blur the line between how we remember older pixel art games and how we perceive them today

glad to hear it! ironically i’m also not typically the biggest fan of pixel art haha
so happy we decided to actually go with getting sprites to react to lights and shadows properly - it makes creating scenes such a joy

one thing ive been really excited about is our new movement system where we leverage pathfinding instead of direct movement which allows the player to weave naturally between objects in the scene instead of having to judge exactly where things are in z space - pretty neat!
