Unfortunately, I have made the difficult decision to make Rainbow Island v1.13: Coral Chaos the final major update. The map itself will shut down on May 16, 2026, at 2 PM EDT.
Rainbow Island v1.12.20 will NOT release on time today (9 AM EST). I haven't even worked on it LOL.
I'm considering canceling the update entirely as there isn't much I need to add other than the Wingsuit and with the map winding down, I think it's fair to just make v1.13 the next version.

I mean I took a basic premise of throwing Fire and Steel's essence into You Don't Know Me and out came Hopeful Havoc. I've been working on an improved version of it for a while for a creative map of mine, so here's yet another preview of it just as an example of what I mean.

I loved the ongoing story I was building with Rainbow Island and I hate how the story that I wanted to keep going for a very long time had to be cut short.
My #1 desire right now is to build another ongoing story or series or project of some kind (100% not in Fortnite LOL).

I loved the ongoing story I was building with Rainbow Island and I hate how the story that I wanted to keep going for a very long time had to be cut short.

Due to the recent decision to scrap everything past v1.13, here are some logos I made for future updates that got scrapped.
Ruined Reality (v1.16) would've been the transitional update between the first and second maps while Rainbow Island OG would've launched with it to preserve v1.15.XX forever.

By the way, I'm still considering the idea of discontinuing Rainbow Island after v1.13 due to my distaste with the direction the Fortnite ecosystem is going in.
I know it sucks that I've been putting out a lot of hype into future updates only to still consider stopping the updates.

By FAR the worst thing about this more than anything else is how Epic Games will allow pay-to-win mechanics in creator-made experiences.
This will be the first time since Save the Word Llamas costed V-bucks (for founders) that Fortnite will have pay-to-win mechanics.
Pay-to-win is predatory.

If Harry Potter ever gets added to the brand island system for UEFN, I will NEVER make a Rainbow Island update using that IP.

Yeah, apparently you're able to change the scheduled time after approval to be as soon as 30 minutes from the current time. The whole 24 hour thing is true, but I guess that's before approval? Kinda makes sense given variable approval time, but still weird.

Good news: I got the update published and am waiting for approval.
Bad news: I apparently can't schedule islands to be published sooner than 24 hours. While I could technically pick the manual option and publish it at 9 AM tomorrow, I opted to do the soonest automatic option for 9:30 AM EST.

My goal is to get Rainbow Island v1.12.10 out by tomorrow at 9 AM EST, but I'm not 100% sure if I can. If the time it is uploaded comes after November 15 at 9 AM EST, it will release as soon as it gets approved.
