Pretty typical job from the BOM yesterday, no wind, bit of mizzle but they got the cool change right. They really should stick to rolling out useless websites. Anyway cooler today, full sun, no rain. More raking up / removal of tree bark

Such a pleasure to have a major news outlet doing these sorts of stories about the much ignored west of Victoria.

Today we're expecting mid 30s, before, it seems a change which could arrive with between 70 and 90 km winds, possibility of thunderstorms and lightning and up to 2 mls of "rain". TFB so off to roll out all the gear

Car fire just up the road on the corner near a friend's. So I'm running around with leads and a cat carrier wondering what the hell I'm going to do with two greyhounds & an extra cat, but luckily it was so close himself got to it with a fire extinguisher before it spread. 1/2

After a couple of stinking hot nights, mid 30s again today, glaring sun, zero chance of rain. Every morning, wake up, check the tank levels in the SmartWater app, then the Tempest weather station, then the Amber electricity usage app, then the cameras for where the Fox was hanging around overnight

30+ again, dry with clouds of dust in the air constantly, animal water tank is going to need a delivery again soon, zero chance of rain.
February 14, 2026 at 10:00 PM
Heating up again a bit, around 30 still zero chance of rain and more fire prevention clearing to do while himself keeps going with the tractor engine rebuild which has been a saga and a half

Am I the only person who is getting sick to the back teeth of being forced to witness the #lnp and their histrionic public suicide pact play out? Abbott says they can now win. What? Irrelevance of the decade award? FFS would somebody please make them all go away.

Much cooler today but blowing a gale and dusty as hell. Zero chance of rain.

Yesterday's predicted high was 29c so we got to 37 which held for quite a long time. Change eventually came through with a couple of mls of drizzle. Lots and lots of clearing up to be done again, trees are shedding massive amounts of bark and leaves. Marked how much more than previous years

Severe fire weather day, but not here. Can see the point where it starts with the naked eye but nope. It's not dangerous on the coast 2.5 hours flat out drive away, so not dangerous here. At some stage some moron in "charge" is going to notice the Great Dividing Range and get a hell of a surprise.

Watched an episode of this last night: www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/tv-... and we both looked at each other with surprise. We could understand some of the German (we're both learning it). Got such a buzz / surprise! Now we might have to go back and concentrate on the content of the show though ...

Low 30s again today with zero chance of rain or cloud cover. Slightly cooler night last night for a bit of relief. Unsurprisingly. Yet. More. Raking. And in a break from the monotony, a bit of goat cuddling ie toenail trimming
