Laura Crane is Professor of Autism Studies at the University of Birmingham, where she is Director of the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER) and Director of Research for the School of Education. The goal of Laura's work is to conduct research on topics that matter to autistic people and their allies, through working in collaboration with them. In this regard, Laura's research interests are wide-ranging, and she has published extensively in the fields of education, healthcare, and criminal justice. Today, on Independent Living Day, Autism-Europe joined @enil-eu.bsky.social and @cofaceeu.bsky.social at a protest in Brussels, where local activists with disabilities and their families called on the regional government to stop putting community based living in jeopardy. #ILDay
