America always had that "do it yourself" mindset which explains why people leaving earlier was pretty normalized. Heard it was something about how in the past it was easier to get jobs and success. In countries like Brazil and such poverty was much more prevalent and real, which made people hurdle

In Brazil this is relatively pretty normalized. Even my father, who was very into work and owning small establishiments, lived with his parents until he met my mom around his early 30s
