So Congress, will you do anything NOW?
Y’all, I had a full on fangirl moment tonight. I met the prosecutor who put Ahmaud Arbery’s murderers behind bars!
Man, if only we had known when Order of the Phoenix came out that JK Rowling was basing Dolores Umbridge on herself, the end of the HP series would have taken on a whole new meaning.
A little Rage Against the Machine on the turntable while taking care of things around the house today. In the adapted lyrics of this live album “some of those that burn crosses, are the same that hold office” sure does sadly fit in 2025.
I under-appreciated Rage Against The Machine in my younger days.
My friend is there protesting outside. Seems like a good sized crowd protesting from what’s been shared with me. Glad to see some GA standing up and saying something.
Have to say, I’m surprised that an administration so against DEI is going with teaching A1 in schools. I figured Mayo would be as saucy as they’d go.
Not in Portland but will be there.
Looking forward to visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture and Native American Museum in the near future. History isn’t always pretty, but it is always important.
If you borrow from your local library, do you get the same little thrill I do when you return a lend early? It makes me happy to know I’m giving the next borrower an early gift. And I love it when a hold arrives earlier than I expected. #librariesareawesome
I’m trying to focus on some good things. We had a really nice day here, and I was able to get out for a short walk after work. I even took a turn on a hop scotch grid some kids in the next neighborhood had drawn. Sometimes it’s the small things that help the most.
Reading a novel that consistently calls a main well-known street in Atlanta “peach” street instead of “Peachtree” and such sloppy writing and editing for something so easy to check is driving me crazy.
This is such good news! Thrilled to have Miggy back in the ATL!
I looked up House Resolution 7 today after hearing some chatter about it. Saw this gem
“Whereas health care for women should also address the needs
of men, families, and communities as they relate to wom-
en’s health care;” and then I googled the org it mentions. Welcome to Gilead.
Alexa just informed me that she can now provide breaking news updates. Absolutely not. I don’t need any more news pushed at me in this hellscape we are living in.
Reading my first @anncleeves.bsky.social novel and really enjoying it. Looking forward to reading more!
I’m not convinced of it at all
That looks interesting. I went with fiction this time- Rebecca Makkai’s I Have Some Questions For You and Tana French’s The Hunter (this should be another well-written mystery set in Ireland).
Yesterday, I finally got to visit the tiny indie book store at our town square. Found (limited myself to) 2 books and a cool glass and some stickers about reading banned books. I’ll definitely be returning- such a cozy place! What are you #reading now?
If Gaetz is such a great AG pick, why not release that ethics committee report and make it clear to everyone? Otherwise it looks like there’s something to hide…
Zappa was right. Music is the only religion that delivers the goods.
Any Sons of Anarchy fans out there? The White Buffalo just released a new live album that has an amazing cut of the song “Come Join The Murder” on it. Give it a listen!
