Tropospheric nitrogen dioxide concentrations measured over Europe on 8 Oct.
High concentrations can be seen in Italy’s Po Valley, along the north coast of Africa, and in other hotspots.
NO2 is released during the combustion of fossil fuels and is known to exacerbate various health conditions. 😷

The words will resonate for many scientists working in the global south/ less privileged insts...tokenism runs high...but to expect science which is also a human driven enterprise to be any different from other sectors is utopian perhaps..hope Science remains better off than other domains...
