So, one of the things I like to do is toy around with various new tech in Linux. One of the newer, less known features are the new scheduler extensions (i.e., SCHED_EXT). They allow you to replace the CPU scheduler with another one entirely during runtime. 1/4

So, finally managed to beat @larianstudios.com's #DivinityOriginalSin2 today. Went with a good(?) ending 😅 At least it made sense as to what I discussed between my character and Ifan.

Also, found this little hidden homage to #DarkSouls' bonfires tucked away in a hidden alcove 😄

More progress on rqlite. Some basic "oops" detection, as well as a meta command for data sizes for sanity checks 😅

Pushed an updated build of Bomby Explody (azdalen.itch.io/bomby-explody) that I made back for Bevy Jam 6. New enemies, better spawn mechanics, better bomb bounciness, better enemy waves, among other tweaks. Its still VERY bare-bones, but its more a game than it was before.

Re-ran across a video by @runevision.bsky.social on Surface-Stable Fractal Dithering. I enjoyed re-watching the video and definitely recommend it if you like learning about shaders or ever thought about how you could re-create a look similar to Return of the Obra Din. youtu.be/HPqGaIMVuLs

I've been working on a revamp of my personal site, and I wanted to introduce some simple routing to go between pages for about, projects, skills, etc. Well, react router has become much more of a pain to work with than I remember. So, I made my own from scratch 😅

Day 10 of #AdventOfCode was fun. The approach wasn't too bad: a tree search. The hard part, don't just find -a- match, find the -shortest- match. So we not only had to find it, but cast the search net wide & possibly deep in order to find it... Yay for potential combinatorial explosions! 😅

WOW: The DOJ has DELETED an image from its release of the Epstein files that shows photos of Trump in a drawer.

Yesterday, we noted that this image — file 468 — likely slipped through the cracks while officials were attempting to hide materials pertaining to Trump.

Now, it’s gone.

Advent of Code has been interesting. Learning about new libs that I can use to solve the various challenges (e.g., nom, and itertools).

I would say the hardest part has been figuring out reasonable ways to mutate data without angering the borrow checker and what tools to use to get there safely 😅

been doing some old #AdventOfCode exercises lately. I'm glad sum types and crates like [nom](crates.io/crates/nom) exist, as they not only help make the data ingestion easier, but also make some of the parsing-based challenges a little more sane to work.
