I think we’re exactly what we are, a bottom 3rd side who would have been down already had Johansson not been outstanding. What a state of a club, relying on other results to go for us with 1 game to go to stay in the division. The rebuild will take 2 seasons to get near the top 6 let alone in there

It appears we were priming ourselves for a 17th place finish all along! Should have known! 🙄

Much better today and sums up where we are - sadly aren’t a very good team. So to get a point where we could have won vs a half decent side has to be one point gained. It’s a dreadful state of affairs but it is our current situation. Big changes required to turn us into anything more. 😢

Genuine question - would relegation be the worst thing in the world?
February 25, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Regardless of final score tonight, what a poor side we are. Just don’t know where we will even start in the summer. Limp, weak, passive, slow… flaccid. Take your pick. All the best Mr Robins - so much work to do.

Would be perfect if we sent Walsall Tezgel as a Lowe replacement! Everyone wins! As long as don’t lose Cannon… although, if we did, I’d expect us to get a replacement 1st choice striker in.

Am I right in thinking that Robins usually played a back 3/5 with Coventry?! 😬 #scfc #ccfc

I should not be in the least bit surprised, but I cannot believe we’ve sacked NP without having someone lined up! Surely we are not inviting applicants - and starting the process now. This has been on the cards for weeks! Get your next man lined up and then sack NP - like he did with SS!

This! It is in hope more than expectation we make the right appointment.
We’ve tried proven managers with promotions on their CVs, up and coming coaches, chest thumpers, an actual International manager, and now poundshop Guardiola, and ruined them all.

Really wanted Pelach to work, but this sinister malaise goes far deeper than the latest manager/coach.

Lots of similarities - on a much smaller scale - to Man Utd over these last few years. I wonder if they’ll be calling for Amorim to be sacked any time soon?
December 26, 2024 at 6:40 PM
No words. He’s going to do very well to survive this. What a huge mess our club is. 😞

Much much better. Pelach cleary got a reaction. Aggression and pressing makes poor technical performance a lot more palatable. Huge second half now for us to push on and show our (alleged) quality - a shame the conditions will not make that easy. Come on Stoke!

Pelach first 16 league games:
W3 - D7 - L6 - Scored: 20 - Conceded: 22 - TOTAL POINTS = 16

Schumacher first 16 league games:
W5 - D3 - L8 - Scored: 14 - Conceded: 22 - TOTAL POINTS = 18

Pulis first 16 league games:
W2 - D5 - L9 - Scored: 17 - Conceded: 35 - TOTAL POINTS = 11

No need to panic?

What this club needs now - and has for years - is stability. Remain calm. NP is obviously a good guy. The players like him. The players are playing for him. Relax. Enjoy the ride. The good times will return. But it will take time. Hire and fire policy has proved not to work. ❤️🤍❤️🤍

How many people would give up supporting Stoke if we did go down ?

I’m willing to give the manager enough time to change things, even if that means flirting with relegation, I really dislike the throw in the towel attitude.

The meltdown by some after every defeat is laughable! You would have thought after the last 6 years we would be more used to it! God help us if we fluked promotion! It’s not just going to click, it’s going to take time - probably quite a lot of it!

Really interesting read. Be interested to hear the views of @potterlytics.bsky.social on this one and also whether XG takes into account position of opposition players. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/footba...
Narcis Pelach tackles high number of shots Stoke concede with tactics tutorial
Viktor Johansson has been a star man for Stoke City under Narcis Pelach but the boss is trusting him with shots he thinks he can handle albeit a few more than anyone would like

Pretty significant comments from Pelach re: where / what we are now, compared to where / what he wants us to be. A slow build based on getting the basics and culture right first. Building his house upon a rock and I’m all for it! 👊
