Just watched Gaslight (1944), a psychological thriller that still scarily applies today

Every 5 mins, whenever Boyer was on screen, I found myself saying out loud “here he f*cking go…”

Also, shout out to elderly diva next door, Miss Thwaites - the OG true-crime podcast fangirl. This a good one 👍

“I wish I’d been born lucky instead of beautiful & hungry”

Rogers, Hepburn & an impossibly handsome Lucille Ball live at the Footlight Club for aspiring actresses

Funny, quick-witted while also tragic, Stage Door (1937) captures the hunger, lights and dark side of 1930’s show business. Incredible

Red-Headed Woman (1932). After a successful gold dig/homewrecking, Jean Harlow has an affair, then another affair with her affair’s chauffeur, then shoots her husband.

You don’t really want to root for her, yet you’re lowk obsessed to see her land in Paris with a new rich man/ same chauffeur. Loved

“You don’t need champagne, champagne needs you”

Just watched Tonight Is Ours (1933) feat Claudette Colbert & Fredric March: 2 hot people meet at a masquerade & continue to be hot for the rest of the film

Hallmark Christmas movies, take note. This is how you do royalty mixin it with hot common folk

“Don't ever, never, ever mess around with my greens, especially the beans”

Won't lie, that witch’s prologue is a tune

Box of wool arrived today for an upcoming scarf project. Can we just sit and appreciate the bouquet of musical puns going on here?

Just watched It Happened One Night (1934), starring the amazingly talented Claudette Colbert (and her equally stunning mug) & Clark Gable.

When I tell you the plot to every rom-com ever has lifted from this film… running from authority, showing ankle to hitchhike, even a runaway bride scene. Loved!

Just watched Footlight Parade (1933). This one is fast-paced! In the first 8 mins we’ve covered: talkies being the death of musicals, James Cagney getting divorced, and an aspirin purchase from a chain-store pharmacy (hello economies of scale) saves the prologues.

Oh, and the idea for Cats is born?

Update: 3 months later, glad to see the wig’s okay, got a new job and planning a trip to Canada 🇨🇦
Just a quick welfare check on the cherrybomb wig - we still cool? kk bye

Just watched ‘All About Eve’ starring Bette MF Davis and Anne Baxter — a cautionary tale of two queens unable to come together to maximise their joint slay. (In my best Stefan voice) this one had everything: deceit, competition, industry ageism… Loved!

I feel like a good random S17 reunion IG live is needed soon. Can we put this out there for someone to start cooking?

Me whenever Gene Kelly pulls out the “airplane” move mid tap number
January 24, 2026 at 8:49 AM
I’m on my couch watching An American in Paris, and have decided that want the kind of admiration that Jerry (Gene Kelly) has for Lise (Leslie Caron) - the kind where he goes to her workplace and helps her make a sale, then proceeds to tap dance on his neighbours piano and sing about being in love.

Just me, or did Dolly Parton channel promo Suzie eye makeup for her 80th birthday this week? (Happy birthday, Dolly! 🥳)

With the RDR Live episode airing and essentially being the anniversary of the “I’m going to stop you…” speech, I need to know Suzie’s thoughts on starting the great clown-panic trend of 2025. I feel that clown make up/ circus theme was everywhereeee (and still is). Even the guest judge came clowned

So I’m watching the 1935 musical, Top Hat 🎩. Fred Astaire is so stoked about being single and “fancy-free” he proceeds to tap dance in another man’s lounge room for 5 mins and then hits on Ginger Rogers after she files a noise complaint. So far, I’m in. Let’s go

I may be biased, but this is hands down is a complete meal and I stand by it.
Nothing beats an ice cold Dr Pepper and a pretzel/ puff based side…

So I just saw this gif on my twitter tl and I need to know where I can buy this hoodie. As a 5.3ft gal, it’s hard to get oversized sweats with regular-sized sleeves. Does anyone know?

“Hey, did ya see this? Julien Marsh is doing a show!”

I have been on a film history journey over the last 12 months and have finally watched 42nd Street - from start to finish, this is an excellent story with film beats to match the pace of the tap dancers. Highly recommend this pre-code era film!

Such an amazing line up! Side note - the way Suzie’s DQC look could easily join this photo shoot theme…
