I love foxes puffins and dancing.I want an independent Scotland in the EU a free state for Palestine and a world without destructive 'strongmen'. I like a good argument but I've had enough of Israeli propaganda and will now simply block those who share it.

The decision has clearly been taken to start withdrawing free Covid vaccinations from the British public. They are now available to just 3 categories of people: Over 75s, people who are severely immunosuppressed, residents of care homes. Not even to doctors or care workers. Shameful.

An SNP majority one time out of six elections is not good odds. The (d'Hondt) PR sysyem for the list seats is designed to significantly handicap the party that does well in the constituency vote. The 2011 result was an outlier. We shouldn't be gambling our future on the hope of it happening again.

The triumph of egotism over taste.

I would expect the SNP to call for both votes, as they've always done. My issue is with the decision to pronounce the almost unattainable win of a majority of SNP seats across the board as the only proof of Scots' wish for independence. They could easily come a cropper and take our hopes with them.

Me too. Got the tip from the bartender at the Guinness Storehouse. About 10ml for half a pint BEFORE the Guinness is poured. Takes the edge off the bitterness but retains the flavour of the stout. Allowed me to finally enjoy a pint of Guinness - in the Storehouse bar, overlooking Dublin. Lovely!

Crikey! It's one thing reacting to racism. Another leaping to censorious conclusions based on ignorance. Come on!
barbaracooney.bsky.social
But why gamble with our future by insisting on the need for a virtually unattainable SNP majority of seats, instead of a pro-indy one? Looks like Party first.

Worse in Britain, where the arch Zionist and genocide-collaborator, Keir Starmer has never, to the best of my knowledge, assigned responsibility for any civilian deaths in Gaza to Israel. In all his statements Israelis have been 'killed by Hamas'; Palestinians have (carelessly) 'lost their lives'.

Goodness. Yet more work for President Trump! Good job he's a tireless, living god!

Not really disinterested: So appalled by the thought of catching even one minute of it that I've disconnected all the electricity in my house, placed an armed guard on every device that could conceivable carry it, and gouged my eyes out.

And the best route under our voting system is Constituency: SNP, Regional List: Scottish Greens. We can build a compelling pro-independence majority in Parliament, if the SNP will focus on that rather than the alnost impossible task of a single Party majority in a system designed to prevent that.

I'd like to see is a deal between SNP and Scottish Greens to maximise the indy vote via SNP standing only constituency and Scottish Greens only list. Independence and getting out of this increasingly dystopian Union is the single biggest thing we can do to make Scotland a better place to live in.
barbaracooney.bsky.social
Seems a bit harsh on the Scottish Greens. Why no recognition of their responsibility for some of Scotland's most progressive recent measures and their commitment to an independent Scottish republic? I've supported SNP in every election for years, but we need to wise up and acknowledge our allies.
barbaracooney.bsky.social
Why cling to the need for an SNP majority rather than a pro-independence one? SNP:1 Green:2 is very likely to produce the latter next year. The d'Hondt method of allocating List seats makes a single Party majority really unlikely. Why take the risk? Is Swinney prioritising Party over country?

We will pay the price literally and figuratively. Very galling when this site is full of calls from providers in the USA and in Canada for people to come for their free Covid vaccinations. So much for our much-vaunted NHS! (It will cost me £85 on Wednesday.)
barbaracooney.bsky.social
But not yet. They'll take their own sweet time until most of us have been forced to pay for it. Any news on reinstating eligibility for 65-75 year-olds, or frontline doctors and care staff? No? Didn't think so.
barbaracooney.bsky.social
The most shocking news about the winter Covid booster in the UK. While this site is full of people in the US and Canada promoting the free Covid jags that are available, in the UK, not only have they been whipped away from 65-75 year-olds, but from front-line DOCTORS AND CARE WORKERS! Unbelievable!
barbaracooney.bsky.social
If only. Like so many.others, I've now fallen foul of the UK Government decision to remove eligibility from 65-75 year-olds. Already paid £85 for a booster in spring. Set to pay another £85 on Wednesday, mostly to protect my clinically vulnerable husband. He gets it free; I have to pay. 😡 NHS
barbaracooney.bsky.social
Good luck with that in the UK. Our Government has just removed eligibility from whole swathes of people who had been getting the vaccine since it was introduced including people between 65 and 75. Now charged £80 to £100 for a private vaccine. Part of Starmer's war on the old (esp.the old and poor).
