i’ve been working on my nerd posture and honestly you’d be surprised at how fucked up your body gets from leering at a screen with your grubby little claws tapping at a keyboard all day

a work of art is a creature that wants to destroy you and replace you with something else. it is in your interest that you allow this to happen, sometimes
jana-aych-ess.bsky.social
counterpoint: it is good and correct to view engaging with a piece of art as an act of consumption. you just have it backwards. *you* are the thing being consumed
annacwebs.bsky.social
Gonna go even further: don't refer to it as "consuming media" when doing this. You aren't a consumer - it's not a product. You read books. You look at art. You watch movies and/or videos. Be careful about word choice.

Reject "consume" and REJECT "CONTENT."
IT IS ART.
YOU ARE ENGAGING WITH ART.

Everyone knows that the x86 ISA is big.

Modern CPUs have ~1000+ mnemonics. Guess how many make up 90% of compiled C/C++ code?

TWELVE. I'm not kidding.

The question is…what if we shrank it?

Happy birthday to the MOS 6502! It was 50 years ago today that people were able to buy their first samples of the chip from a jar in a hotel room at WESCON.

Here's my oldest 6502 from the 52nd week of 1975. Still works perfectly!
