I just looked at an AliExpress order I made exactly a year ago for electronics components & parts for an #Arduino project I'm doing with my kids. The cost in 2024 was $11.56. Same items today: $23.06. Thanks Trump!

A problem I've noticed is CDC's failure to update datasets that rely on daily reporting. The #COVID #SARS-CoV-2 wastewater monitoring data hasn't been updated since 22 Jan. I do see that some of the respiratory-disease weekly vax reporting data was updated today. Who knows how long that will last?

A colleague asked whether I thought the government would continue the public release of its data products. The data from CDC health monitoring surveys, decades of data on mortality, crime data, climate data of a variety of types that go back for years, etc.

I used the Shiny Assistant to develop an app that allows you to post to BlueSky and Mastodon simultaneously. You have to authenticate with the rtoot & bskyr apps on your own machine first. #rstats #shiny Code: https://dub.sh/HYA9NnP

I just found @chriskenny.bsky.social 's #rstats package bskyr which allows you to post directly to bluesky from R. It should be easy to integrate with the Mastodon R package (rtoot) to allow simultaneous posting to both platforms.
