Goldcrest - along with the closely-related Firecrest, this is the smallest bird in the British Isles. Not easy to photograph as they are often amongst dense vegetation & move quickly.

A very worn Small Tortoiseshell butterfly seen near Stoney Littleton, near Bath. This species has declined by 86% since 1976. The reasons are uncertain, possibilities include a parasitic fly & climate change

The Deceiver (Laccaria laccata) & Amethyst Deceiver (Laccaria amethystina) in Stockhill Wood. The Deceiver is a highly variable species that is sometimes confused with other species - hence the name.
