October is Menopause Awareness Month. Up to 70% of women seeking menopause care don’t get the treatment they need.

AB 432 ensures coverage for FDA-approved treatments. It passed with bipartisan support: now I’m urging the Governor to sign it.

Out and about in the District with the town of Danville and with the Pleasanton Unified School District. I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear about the important work each is doing to serve our communities: from educating our children to keeping our cities beautiful, safe, and accessible.

I was honored to be joined by Halle Berry, Senate Pro Tem-Elect Monique Limón, and a coalition of amazing doctors in the effort to make menopause care a priority.

Today, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the bravery of the first responders who ran toward danger to save others. We remember the resilience of our nation and the strength we find in unity.

A Statement from Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan.
“I AM HORRIFIED BY THE TRAGIC SHOOTING OF CHARLIE KIRK AT UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY. VIOLENCE HAS NO PLACE IN OUR DEMOCRACY, AND THE USE OF A GUN TO SILENCE ANY VOICE IS AN ATTACK ON OUR MOST FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS. MY HEART IS WITH MR. KIRK’S FAMILY, HIS LOVED ONES, AND ALL THOSE IMPACTED BY THIS SENSELESS ACT.

WE MUST CONTINUE TO STAND UNITED, ACROSS PARTIES AND PERSPECTIVES, IN REJECTING POLITICAL VIOLENCE AND WORKING TO ENSURE OUR COMMUNITIES ARE SAFE, PEACEFUL, AND RESPECTFUL SPACES FOR DIALOGUE.”

Starting Aug 1, federal student loan borrowers in SAVE will see interest begin accruing again as the 0% freeze ends.

This change follows court injunctions blocking parts of SAVE & the phase-out of income-driven plans under OBBA legislation.

Yesterday, I presented AB 56 in Senate Judiciary — a bill requiring clear warning labels on social media about its mental health risks.

AB 56 passed 12-0 and heads to the Senate Health Committee next.
