Yup, I have a decent sized collection of "retro" (PS1, Xbox, GameCube, PS) games. Half of which I haven't played. I know I'd love most of them but I simply don't have the time to just sit down and play for any decent period of time either.

There is obviously a place for every genre within the scene, but it feels like for the less popular ones it's like you have to have a community built specifically around that specific genre or you get a lot of situations like the one you mentioned. There's not really a great solution I don't think.

I definitely understand where you're coming from. And it does make sense having a crowd that's going to be there to enjoy your set regardless is obviously a superior experience for a DJ.

Anyway, I know the greater point you were making wasn't about numbers. But I hopped on the opportunity to talk about it as its something I've thought about a lot, and sometimes it bothers me when people refuse to admit their connected.

The reason it feels so much different I think, is because there is more people there, and those people respond to the energetic environment (especially in a small space) by being more engaged with the music.
