Listened (once again) to The Köln Concert last weekend. I'm always in awe. An incredibly inspired, beautiful (and quite intense) piece of music. All improvised. And knowing Keith was in bad physical shape and only 29 when he recorded it makes it all the more impressive. Dare I say it? Masterpiece.

Rick uit Rotterdam trok afgelopen weekend de stoute schoenen aan om met vrienden te carnavallen in Brabant, maar maakte een ontzettende beginnersfout. De beste man reisde verkleed als hulpverlener af naar Breda en werd in totaal 6 keer in elkaar gemept.

The first Nick Drake LP, Five Leaves Left, was a revelation when I heard it in the early 1990s. IMHO, its follow-up is even better with delicate, warm arrangements. John Cale's on it, also a very young Richard Thompson. Northern Sky is a standout. Just a beautiful, delicate, soothing album.
