[27 Jun 2025] @DrTedros at WHO media briefing:

“We cannot talk about COVID-19 in the past tense. Although the crisis has passed, the virus remains.

It continues to evolve, it continues to kill, and millions of people continue to live with post COVID-19 condition or long COVID.”

Brain fog has me trying to do an update but I can't put my thoughts together. Running out gfm$ in Nov. Try not to freak out about it. Friendsgiving this weekend I hope will raise my spirits cuz I'm scared #myalgicE #longcovid bit.ly/Marcia_petit... petition; worldwide signatures

I've asked Canada Revenue Agency about this issue before, they won't comment on the activities of individual charities due to the "confidentiality provisions of the Income Tax Act"

They note the public can report charities suspected of non-compliant activities here:

There are more links below that report that she's had medical help so that's a relief.

Hopefully that's the extent of it. Soft tissue injuries and internal organ damage can take days to develop*. I hope she got medical attention.

*Ask me how I know this.

We’re in a moment now where it would be worth people taking three hours to watch Gandhi, particularly the scene of the salt march. There is value to making the brutality of your opponent so plain as day that no one can argue with it. The clarity of that brought down an empire

Remember this as public health authorities keep coming out with more excuses to discard responsibility for their mismanagement of COVID, end vaccination, etc. They *love* the idea of COVID becoming endemic and #longCOVID being unpreventable, because 👉they can pretend there's nothing they could do.👈

Nobody has Long COVID, but everybody has brain fog, cognitive decline and memory loss. I talk about the overwhelming scientific evidence that COVID damages the brain, and the overwhelming social unwillingness to acknowledge it in my latest:

When Will the Lion Concern Himself
Joking memes make light of the uncomfortable reality: everyone's got a little of that post-COVID brain damage these days

When and where do we protest? Can we make signs and sing Christmas Carols?

Thanks for the nod Beth. More than half of our ingredients come from less than 100 miles away and the honey and beeswax we use are from our own hives (about a mile away)

We're in the same general neighborhood - can you DM me the store?

Canucks 🇨🇦: Check out @lowensskincare.bsky.social. They're a Canadian company and Christmas is coming.

#ElbowsUp win for this past week: Found a peanut-free almond supplier that imports from Australia! Decent price. #NutHut

Right? 'Less bad' doesn't mean 'good'.

We have a long way to go, especially with our own crumbled communities and rising fascism.
bcampbellduke.myatproto.social
That's the answer. *If* is doing some heavy lifting. Most don't want to. This is a matter of attitude towards patients, not a tech issue. I have been mocked by the office staff at our NP office for our COVID safety procedures. The us/them attitude is deeply entrenched.

Another reason to boycott American food. Keep those #ElbowsUp, Canucks.

Hey remember when the CDC dropped 6 of the 8 foodborne illnesses from the nationwide monitoring system in July and one of them was listeria? Mentioning for no particular reason www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

Professor Florence Ashley was placed on (non-disciplinary) leave by the University of Alberta because of CK social media posts.

This is a blatant violation of academic freedom in Canada. CAUT should be examining censuring UA for this violation.

Florence Ashley
I was shocked when the University of Alberta administration informed me, one of its law professors, that I was being placed on non-disciplinary leave for my social media comments in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination—comments that unquestionably fall within the scope of academic freedom and freedom of expression. I know that many others have been placed on leave, disciplined, or fired for their comments, and feel compelled to speak up in light of my firm belief that the health of a democratic society depends upon its protection of academic freedom and freedom of expression.

Remember, the vax NEVER claimed to do more than reduce your odds of going to a hospital or a morgue if infected!
It does NOT prevent infection OR Long COVID - an N95/FFP2 respirator on your face wherever there are other people is the #1 way to avoid becoming disabled/more disabled by this virus.

Vaccination is highly effective at preventing hospitalisation for acute Covid-19. The NHS is under unprecedented pressure. A sensible, evidence-based policy decision would thus be to significantly widen eligibility for free Covid-19 vaccination.

Covid hospitalisations up by 37% - highest in nearly a year
Waning immunity from jabs and prior infections - together with rising cases as children go back to school and the weather cools - are thought to be behind the rise in hospitalisations

Yes. The lungs are open to the air so sitting ducks for anything flying by.

Even the clinic was getting too crowded. The pre-transplant CF patients aren't supposed to get within so many feet of each other due to Pseudomonas.
bcampbellduke.myatproto.social
What do they think is going to happen here? A law professor on leave with time on her hands to sue them into oblivion is how I see it.

This will be interesting to watch. I hope she has a lot of colleagues helping her out.

*Bang Head Here*

We've waited months for an in-person appt. for my parents w/ Primary Care so meds can be represcribed. MUST be in person. Doesn't matter that Dad is declining, etc. We do parking lot appts. due to no masks/high CO2.

Today it's raining. Guess who now says a phone appt. is OK?

And the transit we do have we were advised to avoid by the lung transplant clinic. And that was *before* governments, public health and healthcare workers were all good to let COVID rip. Until they sort out airborne safety, transit is a no-go.

Cruise ship Quest & Carnival Spirit are here, Anthem of the Seas arrives momentarily. Today’s total toxic emissions is 37 hours or the equivalent of 127,317 semi-trucks idling in Victoria — today alone. We pay for this with the effect on our healthcare system and environment. #yyj #climatecrisis
