We’ve seen the benefits of the Foundry model in Squamish, and I’m thrilled we were able to secure funding for Foundry Pemberton. This kind of ‘no-wrong-door’ wrap-around support is foundational to the BC Greens’ approach to wellness.

The federal airport lands at YYJ could play a critical role in delivering affordable housing for local workers (and seniors) in a manner that respects the environment and community plans. I’ve been assured by the Minister of Housing that the new advisor will seriously consider the YYJ lands.

North Saanich urgently needs affordable housing, and I hope the special advisor delivers real results. I’m encouraged by the municipality’s willingness to work with the province to increase housing supply. This advisor creates an opportunity for faster input and better outcomes—but it must deliver.

BC Greens MLA @jervaler.bsky.social spent a huge amount of 2025 bringing provincial, municipal and First Nations governments together to bring regional transit to Sea-to-Sky. It was promised in our 2025 Accord with the BC NDP.

The Minister says it is the government’s job to ensure projects reach a final investment decision. In doing so, he is overcommitting BC to an LNG industry that is teetering on the edge of obsolescence -- major investors are actively exploring options to sell their stakes in LNG Canada.
