Some personal news 📚

10 years ago today, Steve Jobs (2015) was released. This year, I am launching a book: a work of 8 writers, analyzing it piece by piece, to appreciate the film as greater than the sum of its parts.

Sign up is now open to find out when you can own a copy of STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH.
The publisher of AdWeek just called this the best promotional post of all time. Of all time. And if anyone ever does one better it’s gonna be Chiat/Day who the board wanted to replace and it’s gonna be Lee Clow who the board thought was

Watched a pretty good movie I had never gotten around to after hearing about it at Tribeca 2018. Wrote a bit about the way we experience festival movies a bit differently (a good thing, imo!)
A ★★★½ review of Nigerian Prince (2018)
Festival movies seem to exist in their own world. I heard of this movie while covering Tribeca and got interested, but then the festival ended and I never felt the urge to watch. Everything sort of ge...

Any chance I know anyone who was doing film criticism in 2015, covered Telluride, NYFF, or for some other reason has access to the STEVE JOBS production notes?

Would be a big help

Skeptical about Steve Jobs? So is @aeneas-nin.bsky.social! Read Alexander B. Joy in STEVE JOBS MONOGRAPH to see how the editing of Steve Jobs (2015) betrays the Great Man narrative at the core of the Apple genius story, coming soon.

Sigourney Weaver as the voice of the aquarium in Finding Dory
Ringo Starr as 'Thomas the Tank Engine Narrator'
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”
