For a long time the cutting edge of technology has been porn and gaming. You have to wonder what that says about the humanity. Financial services are also near the front line. Though improving data transmission times by a few ns to front run the market does not make the picture much more favorable.

I think the Republicans know that the premium increase has to be stopped, and that the Democrats will fight for that. Best guess is that they are trying to cram the CR through for "free"and then use the health insurance issue as leverage for something else they have waiting in the wings.
