I guess a lot of it comes down to weight loss being such a deeply ingrained societal norm, and deliberate weight gain / even just happily existing as a fat man is automatically treated like a fetish by some people. Even by a large amount of furries and pups who claim to be progressive

Forever in two minds of "I'm happy to see people happier after their weight loss" and "I'm so sick of hearing about weight loss nearly everywhere I go". At least to some degree that's on me because it's a trauma thing, and I'm trying to loosen up on it, but I feel like some people get what I mean

I definitely get that. I've mentioned my deliberate weight gain and how proud I am of it in some spaces, and clearly gotten unequal treatment versus anyone who's talked about their weight loss
