Still figuring out the circuit draw tool, but love how these turned out. 🎀💜

Now that she’s gotten them, I can show off the first batch of homemade birthday gifts. ♥️ Starting up a shop now to start selling. I love that I found #sewing

Still need to add the middles and hardware, but happy with how these are turning out. ♥️

Had an outdoor cushion whose zipper broke. Ended up needing to replace the whole zipper. First time “sew-fixing” a home item instead of having to buy new. Love it!

Loved sewing this. 10/10. Will make more. ♥️

Now that I know my bobbins were causing me issues, it makes sense this bag wasn’t the funnest thing to put together. 😭 but it’s cute and I’ll make another one.

Seemingly randomly, my sewing machine started having a lot of issues. Figured out I bought a pack of the wrong bobbins. 😭🙃 I’m back in business.

Thank God because ain’t no way I’m getting through this political climate without a calming hobby. 🧵

Making a sling bag that I plan on using myself, and I’m pretty excited for it. Unfortunately I’m at a stand-still until my strap hardware comes in Friday. ♥️🧵

First bigger tote. More fabric but not as hard as I thought. Looking forward to using better/cuter fabric now that I know what I’m doing.

Spent last night cutting a pattern for a bigger tote bag. I’ve been doing small cosmetics bags and did not realize how much more fabric and stabilizer is need. Need to run to the fabric store this PM for more but ready to get sewing again and challenge myself.

Two ladies at the fabric store were arguing if the chair they were buying fabric to patch was cream or gray. Purchaser went with cream. And now I gotta go through life not knowing how that situation went.

Tried to wing a fairly simple zipper crossbody to test my understanding of sewing zippers on bags. It did not go well. 😭 The life lesson it’s giving is patience. #sewing

Finally finished another Bramley bag. Messed up more this time but the patterns SO cute. I definitely need to study bag patterns more and understand what I’m actually sewing in each step. Would decrease mistakes. I also placed my tag on the wrong end, but tbh I’m impressed it even worked. #sewing

Cutting and prep isn’t a favorite. But future me is already thankful for present me. Sewing is definitely teaching me patience and the importance of prep. #sew #sewingnewbie #sewingbags #sewing

Tried making a vest for my tiny dog. Turned out too small, ironically, but tbh I must have used the wrong fabric because it feels too cold for a winter jacket. Research will ensue.

Just ordered a thread & bobbin wall organizer as it’s getting a little unruly in here. Some kind of milestone? #sewing #learningtosew #threadandbobbins #seworganization

After making some harder (for me) things, wanted to try something more simple. Turns out even this teaches.
I used a directional fabric so the back is updated down 🙃 and I wasn’t paying attention so the stitches on one of the straps are opposite one another. I don’t think my kid will care 🔥

Not in love with the accent fabric I chose (it’s from one of my kid’s old onesies - thank goodness not a favorite) but finished. I worked with plush fleece which didn’t have a backing and had a bit of a learning curve. Using tweezers in place of walking dogs up top helped! #sew #sewmewbie #learning

I need to stop going to the craft store before I’m broke. Sewing can definitely be affordable, but it can also leak your wallet a little. 😭

A lot of Hail Mary’s going into this one from someone whose not even religious
Also wtf with the furrrrrrr. I didn’t realize this fabric didn’t have a backing either. 😭

This bag made me want to throw things, but it was a great learning experience.

Mess up one project, go get more materials for more. Gotta stay motivated with pretty prints. ♥️

The start of the first sewing project I royally screwed up. 🫠 Right of passage maybe? I definitely learned a lesson in pattern measurements being there for a reason. 😭
