Hello, I'm Ni and this acc is for the only purpose of sharing/gushing and even venting out about my eternal love for Digimon Adventure 02, Kizuna and THE BEGINNING. Also ok, i liked the special PV called Beyond.

and Iori being a High Schooler is still a fact even in 02TB, he even stated in-movie he's about to graduate, therefore he's still in HS there.

but as i said in this thread, this was a complaint about people using that scene, that line and other things in the PV to claim what is canon and whatnot.

assuming just because Agumon and Gabumon are present, or the digivices are present is implying this scene happened BEFORE Kizuna/02TB to me. especially when the rest of the footage does not show a single digivice in hand,

it did not "retcon" Kizuna/02TB -- the smartphones use internet connection to connect to the DW. a friend helped me figure things out with this line so it really checks with the lore. ep 33 had other variations in question that i forgot for a moment.

i'm saying this because i finally get it, and i finally understood Iori is right about it and it matches with 02 statements in-series. but i also believe claiming tri., Kizuna and 02TB were either confirmed canon or retconned is pointless.

as i said before, i was confused about this line when i wrote this, and again i'll say this was not me saying "lore violation" but more likely "ok people are completely losing their minds assuming this special PV retconned anything"

i've realized that i was right:
it didn't retcon ANYTHING at all.

02's Odaiba Memorial episode has Koushiro theorize they can open the gate without digital devices unless they have the D-3. This is a foreshadowing of ep 33, in which Ken opens a gate IN THE RIVER.

But now Beyond says they *need* internet connection...??

Iori: Yes, so long as it's connected to the internet, but...

Koushiro: As long we have a PC... Or, maybe not. As long we have the D-3,

Koushiro: we should be able to get to the Digital World.

Ep 33, in which Ken opens a gate in the river to go to Kyoto and also takes the Hanumon (Apemon in dub) with him.

Thus confirming Koushiro's theory from the Odaiba Memorial episode.

like i was yelled and accused of "forcing others to dislike ▽ for 02" which wasn't my intent at all? so i fear the same thing happening again, this is why i don't talk about Beyond and only focus on gushing about 02(TB) and Kizuna.

I don't hate Beyond, but i also don't feel safe with its existence. especially people who hated Kizuna/02TB being totally into it and excited for the future reading backstory they said to release someday.

it feels like, saying i'm not fond of it *yet* would cause people to yell at me again.

and i also agree with Taguchi when he said "I felt that we shouldn’t be making stories to completely fill in the gaps up to that future" because i really want them to stop right here with 02TB and that's all. Advverse ended with 02TB for me, i'm going to continue writing and drawing stuff by myself.

because once again i feel like i'm part of a minority who deeply enjoyed Kizuna & 02TB a lot, especially when i read interviews about their development, the love and attention to the details that many believe were disrespected but weren't at all.

Because i loved Kizuna and 02TB, i do not agree with people's takes on both movies and claiming Beyond "retconned" them. i don't even care if you like them or not, i just wish i wasn't afraid of sharing art/posts made by people who hate Kizuna/02TB (or even ▽)

I'll confess i'm still not much fond of the designs in Beyond and i'm bothered by Miyako having her height reduced to make Iori look taller (iirc that chart i saw around had kept their 02TB heights EXCEPT for Miyako)

i'd love to draw stuff about it, but i'm not in a good mood.

BTW i wouldn't be mad if people who hate(d) 02 could just say "i didn't like it" or "it wasn't for me" instead of simply try to "justify" their opinions with the most crude and incorrect takes ever.

It's about watching carefully how the 02 group interact with each other, and their development around other people (like, the Adv'99 six, other digimon, other kids, etc) and now the traditional individual development.

try this and you will get a new door opening to you.

because, as a friend pointed out before, and also pointed by the staff in an interview iirc, "02 is about connections" so the entire development people claim to be nonexistent DOES EXIST but applied differently from the individual development Adv'99 and so other things have.

especially Daisuke, who is the face of the series and also a lot of his portrayal as a "not-so-assertive-yet-very-pure-at-heart" aspect is extremely connected to the main plot, so changing him to a brat guy only to give him "development" caused a huge damage to 02 imo.

but i'll be honest here and say 02 heavily relies on you to like the new characters, and since the first seven episodes in it has Daisuke and Miyako really shallow, and showing their vices right before you get their charming points make it discouraging.

note i'm not saying "dub(s) sucks" i'm saying thanks to 02 original's "extremely subtle" and "every line is important" method of storytelling, there's high chances the US dub got struggles to know what to adapt and what to maintain in their version.

also yeah, 02 and Adv'99 have different themes and approaches, so if you claim 02 is "inferior" or a "downgrade", maybe you were watching it from the wrong perspective, or watching the American dub which unfortunately has proved to have messed up the portrayals of the series.

so yeah, i'm so sorry i'm a 02 fan and my least favorite is Tamers. i love the characters & songs in it, but thanks to fanbase's behavior and condescending remarks, it became sufferable for me to even enjoy it.

and let's not talk about... Tamers 2018 & 2021 materials please.

being honest here, i love 02 and i don't like how lots of people misunderstand it or treat it as if it was a "downgrade" from Adventure. i also don't vibe with Tamers because of people using it as the flawless Digimon series and trash everything else + 02 (sans Adv'99).

Instead, i want to continue to ignore that series blatant's lore violations and pick whatever was still fair game and good for my own stuff + the Advverse timeline i use.

So this acc is Homeostasis hate-free.
