It feels notable that a major newspaper printed a Palestinian opinion piece in a Sunday edition. I doubt this would have happened even 5 years ago.

Change is slow, but inevitable.

I think there has been some pushback. Niki Ashton is working to remove the charitable status given to several IDF- and Israeli-charities operating in Canada.

And off the top of my head Ashton, Green, Desjarlais, Gazan and maybe a few others supported Sarah too. We should push for more I agree.

I just want to reaffirm that what happened to Sarah Jama was awful and never should have happened, but also to remind folks the Ontario NDP did that, not the federal NDP.

Many fed NDP members spoke out against that bad call from the ONDP and @matthewgreen.bsky.social campaigned for her last fall.

The NDP is failing for a lot of reasons, but I agree they didn’t distinguish themselves enough from the Liberals (except on Palestine)
