“The MCC festival, with its line-up of far-right propagandists, is a disturbing example of how the Orbán regime is working to promote its reactionary ideology"

“Behind the hip image, the festival is organised by a think tank that attacks climate policy, civil society and gender rights”

Good news. We've helped improve the EU lobby register - although major flaws remain of course!
In Feb we & @lobbycontrol.bsky.social complained about likely under- & over-reporting in EU lobby register.

Secretariat has now come back with outcome which shows €47 millions-worth of changes

💶 €2,450,000 added
💶 €23,145,000 taken off
💶 €22,150,000 removed

🚨New video!

Communities impacted by green hydrogen projects in South Africa finally had their voices heard by MEPs and the European Commission for the first time.

🤥 Incredibly disappointing: the Commission denied the EU was involved in any of the projects shown

The most burning reason why VDL should resign is that she has unleashed an irresponsible & antidemocratic deregulation wave (resulting in unprecedented levels of corporate capture) & violated promises she made to the EP that it was only 'simplification'.

It's been quite a week for the 🇪🇺 #deregulation agenda after the publication of the 6th #omnibus - this time on chemicals.

The whole #chemicals package delivered a huge gain for the industry, with very few obligations in return.

🚨 Good news! The European Parliament’has decided to maintain the Amazon lobby ban 👏

Additionally, it rejected a closed-door hearing with Amazon representatives. It also committed to holding another hearing and organise a visit to Amazon warehouses.

Although 🇪🇺 leaders praise green hydrogen as a climate solution, communities in 🇿🇦 are being displaced, silenced and polluted in its name.

Today, for the first time, impacted communities had their voices heard by MEPs and the European Commission.

And we're outta there! Hasta la vista Strasbourg 🇫🇷

Was an absolute privilege to be able to bring the voices of 🇿🇦 communities fighting #greenhydrogen into the heart of EU decision-making.

Thanks to @udobullmann.bsky.social @tillymetz.bsky.social for making it happen 🙏🏼

This is just the first step ✊🏼

2/2 Correia says that the CTIP is responding to South Africa's coal dominated energy sector (80+%).

Yet building vast quantities of renewable electricity to be used to produce green hydrogen, which is then exported, is NOT going to clean up the grid.

Predictably disappointing.

DG TRADE's Dora Correia responds to comments on the #CTIP by saying very little of substance that's not already in existing documents.

Avoids criticisms brought up by South Africa's communities or trade unionists. Says the EU is responding to a call by South Africa ("not our fault, gov").
