New figure construction achievement unlocked! I got a hold of TPU filament and altered the Scrappers balljoint design by turning the socket into an insert. It works *amazingly* well, and addresses a lot of fitment issues I was having; absolutely a gamechanger for me. #3Dprinting #robots #scrappers

Thank you to whomever uploaded this to the Internet Archive, listening to it is bringing me some much-needed nostalgia dopamine this morning...
I've managed to dial in the size of the Scrapper figures to something I'm happy with, I'd say it's roughly 1/18 scale. Here's a model I added some detail to with some Sharpie acrylic paint markers. Decorating these bots is fun :) #art #mech #mecha #3dprinting #robots #scrappers

At the edge of the Outer Rim territories sits Outpost 85, an area full of factories, shipyards, and mining stations. A lot of old technology is sent there to be decommissioned or scrapped, and it’s become known colloquially as "The Scrapheap”... #scrappers

I picked up an old Mega Bloks/Magnetix "Mag Warriors" figure on eBay to study its construction, and I knew there was a good chance there'd be compatibility with my "Scrappers" magnet experiments. I did not expect how well it would work. Look at that! #magwarriors #3dprinting #robots #scrappers

Followup on the use of magnets for swappable limbs: while the steel ball/magnetic socket setup works decently for arms, for legs it has its issues. If the body is lightweight it might be hold up, but past that, there's literally a tipping point.

It's actually not terrible for small runs; folding the cost of materials and labor into the price would just mean it would be a more premium product.
