Not sure. He’s going to be back soon after doing his research.

Finding myself becoming more and more aware with each passing week. There’s so much to see, and to be honest I think I’ve let a lot of it just wash over me before.

Happy for you to piggy back. No idea what those things are though unless the ones on the right are cob nuts?
benhunt.bsky.social
Could be, although the symptoms don’t seem to quite match.

Agreed. I’m the estate parkland behind us there are magnificent 500 year old trees and they absolutely should be protected.

Taking it down might also help its twin on the right which would benefit from the reduced competition for nutrients. I hope this is a circle of life thing rather than something more concerning. Will be interested to see how this develops.

He’s gone away to research what might be happening to it and why, and to consider options up to and including pulling it down, which would be very sad, but it’s close to the house. It has seen a lot of history including the 1987 storm which he suspects damaged its upper reaches. 2/

Tree surgeon here yesterday estimates the oak on the left is about 200 yo. It is visibly and rapidly failing. Branch dieback, discoloured leaves, diminishing foliage and the strange weeping of the bark. This summer it’s been a magnet for all sorts of insects including hornets and butterflies. 1/

I am having an adventure. The trains are up the spout and so route home so far has been Elizabeth line to somewhere called Gidea Park, a shared Uber to Chelmsford and now a bus to Colchester from where I hope to be picked up.

I get that. She has ‘something’ for sure.

Good morning. I’m in an empty quiet office trying to catch up before heading home to the sticks. A good and productive week but pretty tiring. A highlight last night Mary Page Marlowe at the Old Vic. A privilege to see Susan Sarandon on stage and Andrea Riseborough was fantastic

My problem with it was that it was often so dark and frenetic I couldn’t keep track of who was who. (All GIs look the same to me etc…) I had similar problems early in Band of Brothers but more of the action took place in daylight so eventually I figured it out.

Agreed. I found Pacific almost impossible to follow, and Masters of the Air was entertaining and moving but shallow compared to Band of Brothers.

The extras thing is interesting, but 90 overs were bowled in a Test Match day?? I don’t believe it.

The last line of this report feels like it was delivered with deliberate relish.

Good morning. Back in the smoke after agreeable time at the beach, if tiring. Another big day today. It’s all pretty relentless at the moment and a lot to get through. Weekend still feels far off! Have good one ORCs.

What a marvellous place to work.

Yep. I love picking up snippets of conversations from strangers.

The guy behind me in the sandwich shop near the Globe telling his companion he wants to see all Shakespeare’s play performed lively before he dies and is on his way to see Troilus and Cressida. Yep, me too…

Morning all. This is the best hotel bed view I’ve had in a long time. Brighton’s lovely in the sunshine and rule excellent fish for dinner last night. Not the worst day.

That’s my view too. So Jenrick fails and then they merge with Reform…
benhunt.bsky.social
Maybe it will take Jenrick being the disaster Badenoch is and Truss was for the Tories to realise their heading down oblivion alley. Or perhaps that he represents what the party has become and it’s already all over?

No sun and no Storm Amy but the turbines are spinning and the open water swimmers are out…
