Great Orme yesterday morning , silver studded blue, Grayling, Hummingbird Hawkmoth, Brown Argus and Dark green Fritillaries along with a few others. 10 species of butterflies in a small area wow😀
One of about 40 common swifts at Ty’n y Groes, Conwy yesterday. Probably the most swifts I’ve seen at one time in the UK ever. A fantastic experience.

Took a trip to Daresbury, Cheshire today and the Woodchat Shrike did not disappoint
A Common Sandpiper trying to avoid the fast flowing Afon Llugwy near Betws y Coed - usually seen in coastal areas. Also Redstart with feacal sack seen in the area. #birdingNorthWales
The first northern marsh orchid of the year in the garden. I put it in to Obsidentify app to check the identification and it was 99%+ve for D. majalis although the spike does not fit the Anglesey variant. Comments most welcome @ukorchids.bsky.social
Well it was you who identified it for me a couple of years back. Thus will be the first time the Obsidentify app has been wrong for me. I’m glad i checked. Many thanks Sean

Calling all European #Odanata experts. I found this Coenagrion yesterday in a mountain spring pool which looks remarkably similar to hastulatum however it’s in Armenia and miles from the known range. Eyes are green based, spear head mark plus separates side stripe. Comments welcome 🙏
Put the moth trap out last night for the first time in a couple of years and caught an Emperor moth- a lifer 😁
Nant Ffrancon today- cuckoo and garden warbler; Gwydir forest- tree pipit and redstart; Coed Hafod 5 wood warbler and it was glorious weather to boot
