The bellringing antics of Mr and Mrs Bennett, whatever they ring, wherever they ring, and with whoever they ring 🔔
Very pleased that the church have allowed us to have this poster put in their new flash notice board. Also very pleased with 10 of us ringing for service today. PH7, G7, PH7, Cambs 6, R&CC, PH7 #bellringing

First over to Abingdon to practice for the 10 bell striking competition. Ever had imposter syndrome?? Then over to Blewbury. Haven't been there for a few weeks, but able to help with PB5, PB6, G7 & Stedman 5 and Call Changes. Checked shirts are ready for the Branch Barn Dance tomorrow #bellringing

Thanks to Sarah & those who rang for Remembrance Sunday whilst we were away. With some visitors tonight we were able to ring all 8. Lots of PH7. Two rounds of PB6 for RH on 1, 2 goes of PB6 for JM inside, 2 goes at PB5 inside for JD and tenor for JM. And some Cambs 6 for the rest of us #bellringing

Kept to just the 6 again this morning. But we were able to ring PB6, a touch of Stedman5, some more PB6, and finished with a course of Cambs 6 which Duncan kindly photographed #bellringing

We may have had lots of bodies in the tower, but we stuck to Minor on the front 6 tonight. Alternated PB6 with Cambs 6 then PB6 with Norwich 6. Jonas's first blows in PB6 and he rang the 2nd, 3rd and 4th very well during the night 👏 Thanks to our friends from Blewbury visiting again 😀🔔 #bellringing

Whats the collective noun for too many Stedman ringers?? So grateful for 3 friends from Blewbury joining us this morning. We had 12 in the tower and it meant we rang some very steady PH7, a course of PB7 and G7, and some splenditious Stedman 7. Mrs Stedperson was very pleased 👌😄🔔 #bellringing

The last tower of our Plain Bob Doubles fest was Wootton which were a very loud 6 at 9cwt. Everyone has made progress with 2 much more confident and one being able to ring unaffected touches and one ringing affected touches. The helpers are a bit weary though 😳 #bellringing

Second tower was where we all had lunch inside the freezing church. Church Hanborough are a 13cwt six. Definitely 2 who are happy with plain courses and 2 who may be able to do touches #bellringing

We're helping with Plain Bob Doubles on the Steeple Aston course today. 4 students of mixed ability. Loads of opinionated helpers 😏. First tower is the 7cwt, 6 of Stonesfield where sadly the stay on the 2nd broke #bellringing

We joined Blewbury practice at Cholsey tonight as they still aren't ringing at Blewbury at the moment. We rang R&CC, PH6, lots of PB6 for Val who is going on the Steeple Aston course for it tomorrow, some Cambs 6, G7, Stedman 7 and half a course of Cambs 8. Thanks to Cholsey for hosting #bellringing

Gosh, I'm worn out. Thanks to 4 lovely friends visiting, we were able to ring Cambs 6, Norwich 6, PB7, G7, Stedman 7, LB8 with PH7 in between. It's nice to be able to sit out whilst all 8 are being rung. Also nice to ring Major for a change. Thanks for coming friends 🔔 #bellringing

How many does in take to instruct the learner? The answer is 4. The steeple keeper to put the tie on, the poorly ART trainer to do half of it, the injured experienced trainer to do the other half and the Tower Captain to just boss them all around 🤣🤣

We are missing Dick while he recovers but thanks to Gill and Richard coming over from Blewbury, we rang some really lovely PH7, G7 and PB7 this morning. Thanks to Duncan for tenoring all morning to keep us steady. And some of us also went for coffee afterwards #bellringing #greatstriking

We hosted a Guild Steeple Keeper’s course today. Happy that 17 people attended and 7 of those were from our Branch. I think it went well and everyone learnt things. I made lots of tea and coffee and did some serious washing up 😄 Thanks to our church authorities for making it possible #bellringing

Fewer of us than usual at this month's Surprise Minor Practice at Radley, meant that we could practice and consolidate Norwich and Surfleet all evening for 3 or 4 people. Just one attempt at a touch of Cambs 6, and some Primrose neither of which went quite so well #bellringing

We concentrated on PB6 tonight as some folks away or under the weather. Duncan was the star ⭐️, ringing the 3rd every time, so others could practice the treble or inside. Such an expert by the end he was saying go & stop too 👏 We also did some G5 for him & he tenored for our Stedman 5 #bellringing

These 2 smart chaps set the tone of our ringing today. 10 of us ringing some very smart PH7, G7, PH7, and PB7 prior to service. Plain and simple things rung well is all that's needed on a Sunday #bellringing

Blewbury practice held at Goring in the Reading Branch tonight. 12 folks made the effort to go and rang R&CC, PB5, Cambs 6, Spliced Little/Plain/St Clements CB6, PB7, Stedman 7 & PB8. Some folks spooked by the huge spider 🕷 on the wall until Ellen saved us all from certain consumption #bellringing
October 10, 2025 at 9:37 PM
10 folks in the room, maybe only 2 or 3 fully fit. We did Mexican Wave on 8 & PH7. Dick and Duncan improving their PB6 very well, and Jonas his PB5. The Stedman 5 didn’t make us smile as much as usual, sadly. But the green team did well lowering back bells before I lead the front 6 down #bellringing
October 7, 2025 at 8:31 PM
11, yes 11 this morning. Grateful to Ellen coming from Blewbury which meant we rang G7, PH7, and PB7. We tried Stedman 7 but that was a little too much today 😳 Best striking of the day was lowering the front 6 😂 #bellringing

First evening back to Blewbury for a couple of weeks and the last for a few more weeks whilst they have work done on the church. PB5, PB6, Cambs 6, St Clements CB6, G7 and Stedman 7 all rung tonight, before all 8 rung down in peal 🔔 #bellringing

15 people at the Branch Surprise Major Practice at Milton tonight. Some new faces learning Cambridge. I got half a course, then a full course of Yorkshire. And Mr got 2 half courses of Superlative. Others also rang Bristol and attempted 4 spliced #bellringing #gettingthere 🔔

Thanks to our friends from Blewbury visiting us tonight we were able to have an advanced practice, where we rang no Rounds and Call Changes. Progress made in PH7, G7 and Stedman 7. Also really good efforts at Cambs 6 and Norwich 6. Thanks for coming 🔔 #bellringing

A few of us a bit poorly this morning. But enough for them to ring up the front 6 without needing me 😳 We also rang PB6, G5, Stedman 5 and an attempt at St Clements CB6. And some of us have started going for coffee afterwards #bellringing
